Cottrell Park's 20 Bay floodlight Driving Range is open from 9.00 a.m. until 9.00 p.m. Tuesdays - Thursdays and from 8 a.m. Fridays - Mondays. The Driving Range is perfect for practising every type of shot and is used extensively for teaching purposes by our Golf Professionals.

Steve Birch - PGA Professional

Stephen Birch turned Professional in 1990 and became PGA Qualified in 1995.  "I started Playing Golf at the age of 15 and turned Professional at 17.  Starting out at Caerleon Golf Club in 1988 until 1995.  Then I moved on to Pontypool Golf Club for two years 1995 - 1997 and then joined Cottrell Park late 1997 until 2005.  I then had a brief spell with Direct Golf UK and then re-joined Cottrell Park as Head Professional in early 2006.   Now I have retired from Tournament Golf, my aim is to provide a first class teaching service here at Cottrell Park catering for the complete beginner to the Scratch Golfer.

John Hastings worked in Bavaria, Germany, Baden-Baden in The Black Forest and then in Alsace, France.  John has more than 20 years experience in teaching and speaks fluent German as well as his native English. 

'Inner Golf'

John teaches the 'Inner Golf' method which is a process of learning through self-awareness.  The exercises of this method help the golfer to forget about the mechanics of the swing and strengthen his body awareness.  John also runs the  YMG Junior Academy aged 4 - 16 yrs.
